FLASHBACK: Michael Buble Anniversary Getaway

Now that some of our history is down for the record I am going to get back to my original plan for posting: our 12th anniversary!

Kris got word that Michael Buble' was coming to the New Orleans Arena near our anniversary and suggested we make it an event. Woo Hoo! Yes sir, I can handle that :)

We checked into our hotel, Maison St. Charles, in time to freshen up and plan where we wanted to eat. We were very pleased with our hotel! It definitely had a New Orleans feel and the trolley passed right in front.

We ate supper at Copeland's Cheesecake Bistro which was equally a good decision! I ate Crawfish Ravioli that was YUM-O! And we split their Snickers Cheesecake which was worth every bite of the splurge!

Next up, we headed to the concert. We found a parking lot and started walking to the arena. We had to walk a little ways but with everything we had eaten, it felt good! We had to wait in line awhile getting inside...the place was swarming with fans!

We were there in plenty of time and enjoyed lots of people watching! Concerts are a really good place to do that, you know?!?

The group Naturally 7 opened the concert. They were amazing. We were very impressed with their musical abilities! Their website describes them as "What makes Naturally 7 special, is that every instrument sound that they sing is created from the human voice. There are no actual drums, guitars, horns, flutes, or any other instrument that is heard when listening to them perform; it’s the band members playing each of their vocal instruments."

It was time for the man of the hour, Michael Buble', to make his appearance. As the lights went down and we heard his voice the crowd went crazy! The atmosphere was lots of fun!

I am not a huge music follower. I occasionally come across a few songs I like and can listen to them over and over. It would not be uncommon for you to find me making a solo trip to my hometown (almost 4 hours away) and never turn on the radio. I just don't have to have it. But, when I find something I like...I really like it. Last Fall I heard Michael Buble's Let It Snow and fell in love. Jazz and soulful music tend to catch my attention and he has both :)

I wasn't sure I would know very many of the songs he sang on this tour, Crazy Love. However, he sang EVERY song I adore: Save The Last Dance For Me, Haven't Met You Yet, Feeling Good, Everything, and Crazy Little Thing Called Love. He is a really good entertainer and kept the crowd engaged.

I had so much fun getting away with Kris. Having that little bit of one on one time away is priceless, and getting to clap and sing along to Michael Buble' was icing on the cake!
