Bankton Hays turns 3!

Three years ago we were anxiously awaiting a phone call from the hospital. Our bags were packed, family was in town, and excitement was brewing. We would be meeting our third child within the day! I was scheduled to be induced due to my very fast previous delivery. My doctor wanted to make sure we made it to the hospital and I wanted to make sure I had an epidural!

We called the hospital the night before to "check-in" and were told they were very busy and to check back in the morning. We called first thing Saturday morning and were told they didn't have any rooms and to check back at lunch. Kind of a weird way to pass the day...knowing you are going to be having a baby but you keep hanging out at the house! The hospital finally called a little before noon and we gathered our stuff, took one last picture as a family of four and headed to the hospital. By the time we got through the "check-in" and the paper work and the monitoring we were ready to roll!

Shortly after 5 pm my doctor announced "It's A Boy!" and the four dubs became five :)

This past weekend we celebrated with a Choo Choo Party!


All the cousins (minus the baby, Carter Cate, napping) were just as excited to get to the presents and cake as the birthday boy!

Three is such a fun age for parties. They are old enough to know what is going on, remember how special the day is, and to have anticipated theirs coming!

Bankston Hays was very excited about people singing "Happy Birthday" to him and getting to blow out the candles.

Excitement continued through opening his presents. Everything received an "AWESOME!" or "AWWW COOL!"


Since we celebrated a few days early, I couldn't let today go by without some recognition! Today a Krispy Kreme doughnut for breakfast and a few more candles...


We love you so much Bankston Hays! You continue to bring us more joy than we could have ever anticipated. Your hugs cannot compare, your laughter brings delight, and your imagination is to be desired.
